At 1mm thin, each disc slides into tight spaces — between layers of bookbinding board, inside a fabric panel, beneath a scrapbook embellishment — without creating visible bulk or distorting the surface. The flat circular profile distributes holding force evenly, which prevents the disc from tilting or shifting once positioned.
The N50 grade places these discs two steps above the N42 magnets that dominate most craft supply listings. That difference matters when the magnet is buried in material: higher flux density means the holding force reaches through the substrate rather than stopping at its surface. Each disc holds up to 2.4 lbs on direct steel contact, with meaningful grip retained through card stock, felt, or thin leather. For closures and fastenings, two opposing discs — one on each side of the material — create a clean, silent snap that opens and closes reliably over hundreds of cycles.
